Business shipping guides: by system, industry and job

Find the page for your setup.

Business shipping on GoatLabels means parcel labels for companies: one account quotes USPS, UPS and FedEx on domestic parcels, with DHL on international lanes, and orders arrive from a store connector, a CSV file or the REST API. This page lists every business guide by system, industry and job, with a line on what each one is for.

One account, no carrier accounts to open

Where should a business shipping team start?

Start with the page that matches how your orders leave the building. A company opening its first account should read the business shipping account page. A wholesaler shipping cartons to other businesses should read the B2B page. A team with several warehouses, a contract to compare or a system to connect has its own page below. Every guide on this page is about parcels, and every one says what GoatLabels does and where it stops.

Which guide covers your ERP or accounting system?

There is one guide per system, and each one describes the same two routes: a file you export, or a call to the REST API. GoatLabels has no native ERP connector and writes nothing back into an ERP by itself, so each guide names the export, the fields a label needs, and how the tracking number and the cost get back to the order. If your system is not in the list, the general ERP page covers the method.

Which guides cover warehouse, order management and EDI systems?

These guides cover the hand-off from a warehouse or order system to a parcel label. GoatLabels prints carrier labels only: it does not create EDI documents or retailer compliance labels such as GS1-128, and it has no native WMS or OMS connector. Cartons arrive by file, by API or from a pack station, and the 3PL pages cover label buying for client volume.

Which guides cover B2B storefronts and marketplaces?

These guides cover wholesale and business orders that start in a storefront or a marketplace. Store connectors: Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce, eBay and Wix. Orders from other channels arrive by CSV import or the REST API, and each guide says which route applies to its platform.

Is there a guide for your industry?

Each industry guide is written for one trade, and each one is about parcels only. They cover what that trade usually ships, the reference that should travel with every shipment, such as a PO, a job number or a cost center, and the limits that matter in that trade, for example no hazmat service and no LTL.

Which guides cover parcel spend, cost allocation and carrier rates?

These guides are for the people who answer for the shipping bill. They cover the ledger a prepaid wallet produces, how to split that spend by customer or cost center, what a carrier adjustment is, and how carrier contracts and volume discounts work if you also ship on your own carrier account.

Which pages help you compare shipping software before you buy?

These pages are for a buyer with a shortlist. The RFP template gives you the questions, the comparisons set published plans and limits side by side, and each one says where GoatLabels does not fit. If a must-have on your list is something GoatLabels does not do, these pages say so before a call does.

What does GoatLabels do for a business, and where does it stop?

GoatLabels buys parcel labels for a business from one account: it prices USPS (up to 70 lb), UPS and FedEx side by side on domestic parcels, and DHL on international lanes, with no carrier account needed. It stops at the parcel: it is not an ERP, a WMS or a freight broker.

What GoatLabels does and does not do. Orders come in from a connected store, a CSV file of up to 500 rows or the REST API, which is on both plans. You read each carrier's price for the packed parcel and buy the label from a prepaid wallet, and each label is a dated ledger line that carries your reference, such as a PO or an order number. Label prices are the same on the Free and Pro plans, and Free covers 50 shipments a month.

The limits: there is no native ERP, WMS, OMS or EDI connector, no freight or LTL, no retailer compliance labels and no hazmat service. You cannot bring your own carrier contract. A quote is the price at purchase, not a final cost, because a carrier adjustment such as a re-weigh can post to the same wallet later. Sign up in seconds. Your first top-up may need an approved application; the business shipping account page lists what it asks for. Support is by email and the in-app assistant, with no phone line.

Business shipping on GoatLabels: FAQ

Does GoatLabels connect to my ERP or warehouse system?
Not natively. GoatLabels has no native ERP, WMS, OMS or EDI connector. Beyond its store connectors, orders arrive by CSV import or the REST API, and nothing is written back into an ERP automatically.
Can a business use its own UPS or FedEx contract on GoatLabels?
No. GoatLabels cannot use your own UPS or FedEx account, contract or negotiated rates, so a discount a carrier gives you stays on that carrier's account.
Does GoatLabels handle freight or LTL?
No. GoatLabels is parcel only. It does not sell freight, LTL or pallet shipping, and it does not print retailer compliance labels such as GS1-128.
What does business shipping cost on GoatLabels?
You pay per label from a prepaid wallet. Free covers 50 shipments a month, Pro is one flat monthly price with unlimited shipments, and label prices are the same on the Free and Pro plans. High-volume shippers can ask about custom pricing, which we review account by account.
How does a business get started on GoatLabels?
Create an account and quote a real parcel. Your first top-up may need an approved application. You can also send a few typical orders through the shipping review form, and a person prices them across the carriers with you.
