Acceptable Use
Effective August 12, 2026. This policy applies to every account, every shipment, and every API key. It is part of our Terms of Service.
1. The short version
Don't ship anything that's illegal where you are, where it's going, or anywhere it transits. Don't lie on a customs declaration. Don't abuse the API. We will close accounts that do these things.
2. Prohibited shipments
You may not use GoatLabels to ship items that are restricted by law or by the relevant carrier. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Illegal drugs, controlled substances, and unregistered pharmaceuticals.
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, or weapon components, except where a carrier explicitly permits and you are a licensed seller in compliance with all laws.
- Hazardous materials (hazmat / dangerous goods) outside the carrier's documented hazmat program — including lithium batteries shipped without the required labeling and packaging.
- Currency, negotiable instruments, and bullion above carrier limits.
- Live animals, human remains, or biological samples outside the carrier's specialty programs.
- Counterfeit goods, items that infringe third-party trademarks or copyrights, and stolen property.
- Child sexual abuse material or content created without the consent of the people depicted.
- Anything embargoed by US sanctions law (OFAC) or by sanctions applicable to your jurisdiction.
This list is not exhaustive. The authoritative source for what a given carrier accepts is that carrier's published prohibited / restricted items list. When in doubt, don't ship it.
3. Honest declarations
You must declare contents accurately, including for international customs forms. The AI Shipment Assistant intentionally refuses to guess HS codes or restricted-item declarations — these must be provided by you. Mis-declaration is grounds for immediate account suspension and may be reported to authorities.
4. Platform abuse
You may not:
- Use the API to scrape, probe, or attack carriers or other third-party systems.
- Exceed your plan's documented rate limits or API call quota via concurrent accounts or other circumvention.
- Resell GoatLabels access without an explicit reseller agreement.
- Use the Service to send unsolicited commercial mail at scale, or to facilitate fraud, phishing, or money laundering.
- Misrepresent the ship-from address or tender location, purchase labels for postage or zone arbitrage (including declaring the same origin and destination to obtain a cheaper zone than the true induction point), or otherwise falsify rating inputs.
- Resell, transfer, or broker GoatLabels shipping labels without an explicit reseller agreement.
- Reverse engineer, deobfuscate, or interfere with the security of the Service.
5. Crypto top-ups
Crypto top-ups must originate from wallets and exchanges that comply with applicable AML / KYC requirements. We may require additional verification, decline a deposit, or freeze a balance if a deposit is associated with sanctions exposure or known illicit activity.
6. Reporting abuse
If you believe an account or a shipment violates this policy, email billy@goatlabels.io with as much detail as you can share. We review every report.
7. Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in shipment cancellation, balance freezes pending review, account suspension or termination, and reports to relevant authorities. We will notify you of enforcement actions where doing so is consistent with safety and applicable law.
