How is a Faire order different from a retail order?

A Faire retailer orders in case quantities. A candle maker who ships one candle at a time on Etsy might send a Faire order of 48 candles in four cartons of twelve. Three things change:

Weight per box goes up. Cartons in the 10 to 40 lb range are normal. Light-parcel pricing no longer applies and the rate differences between carriers widen.
Multiple boxes go to one address. Each carton needs its own label and its own tracking number, and the retailer wants to know how many boxes to expect.
The recipient is a business. Shops have delivery hours, loading constraints and sometimes a back entrance. A residential surcharge should not apply, and a commercial address usually rates lower for ground services.

Packing well matters more, too. A retailer who receives crushed cartons files a claim, and claims on wholesale orders are for real money.

How do Faire orders get into GoatLabels?

Faire is not one of the 13 live store connectors, so Faire orders come in one of two ways:

Paste the order. For a single order, copy the retailer's shipping details from Faire and paste them in. The AI assistant drafts the label from the pasted text, and you confirm the address and package details before buying.

How do you label a multi-carton order?

Treat each carton as its own shipment to the same address. That keeps every box trackable on its own and means a single lost carton is a single claim, not a dispute over a partial delivery.

Pack and weigh every carton separately. Write the weight and the dimensions on a sticky note as you close each box.
Create one label per carton. Duplicate the order for each additional box, or enter each carton's weight and dimensions in turn.
Compare carriers per carton. Heavy cartons are where UPS, FedEx and DHL ground services get competitive with USPS, and the side-by-side quote shows it.
Number the boxes. Write "1 of 4", "2 of 4" and so on on the outside. Retailers check counts at the door.

A boutique in Denver orders 48 soy candles. You pack them in four cartons of twelve, each 12 x 12 x 10 inches and 14 lb. Your ship-from is in Oregon.

You export the order from Faire and import the CSV, or paste the retailer's address and let the assistant draft the first label.
You enter 14 lb and 12 x 12 x 10 for carton one and mark the destination as a commercial address.
USPS, UPS, FedEx and DHL rates appear side by side. At 14 lb the ground services from the parcel carriers are the ones to look at, and the quote makes the price ordering obvious without a calculator.
You pick the ground service that lands inside the ship window Faire shows on the order, buy the label and repeat for cartons two, three and four.
Four labels print. You write the box numbers on the cartons and hand them to the carrier the same day.
You copy the four tracking numbers into the Faire order so the retailer sees them.

How does tracking get back to Faire?

Because there is no Faire connector, tracking is not posted back automatically. After buying the labels, open the order in the Faire brand portal and add the tracking numbers there. Faire's own guidance on marking orders as shipped and which carriers it recognizes lives in the brand help center and changes from time to time, so check it rather than assuming.

Do this the same day you buy the labels. A retailer watching for a delivery wants the numbers, and Faire's ship-by expectations are measured against when the order is marked shipped.

When should a Faire order not go by parcel at all?

If an order grows past a handful of heavy cartons, a parcel label per box stops being the right tool. Signs you have crossed that line:

More than about ten cartons to one address.
Cartons above the carrier's parcel weight limit for the service you want. Each carrier publishes its own maximums.
Fragile goods that need a pallet to survive transit.
