Per Pirate Ship's help center (checked 2026-10-23), you request a refund within 28 days of buying the label, and Pirate Ship requests it automatically for unused labels if you forget. USPS can take up to 28 days after the request to approve it, typically about two weeks, while UPS refunds come back in about an hour. Approved refunds land in your Pirate Ship account balance, and a Refund Credit button sends that balance back to your original payment method. On both platforms the carrier's approval comes first; what differs is where the approved money lands.

A buyer changes the address after you print. Two orders merge into one box. A package gets requoted a size down. None of these are mistakes — they are Tuesday. A workflow where every routine void becomes a refund to track on another balance treats normal selling as an edge case.

The reprint loop should be one sitting
