Instead of hand-filling Pirate Ship's form per shipment, GoatLabels' Billy AI drafts the label from pasted order text and preselects the cheapest of four carriers.
Billy rate-shops USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL on every draft and defaults to the cheapest service that fits.
Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, ACH, or crypto — the assistant is included, not a tier.
Both tools sell labels without a subscription. The difference is everything that happens before the buy button: who reads the order, who fills the fields, and who runs the four-carrier comparison on shipment number forty of the day.
| GoatLabels | Pirate Ship | |
|---|---|---|
| Starting a label | Paste the order text, drop a screenshot, or say it out loud — Billy drafts the whole label. | Open the form and fill it: name, address, weight, dimensions, service. |
| Who picks the carrier | Billy preselects the cheapest of USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL — you see all four and can override. | You compare the services shown and choose. |
| Repeat buyers | Billy remembers customers and saved box sizes — 'the usual to Maya' is a valid instruction. | Address book lookups inside the same manual flow. |
| Where it works | Web app, phone, voice at the packing table, and Telegram on Pro. | The web app. |
| What the AI costs | Nothing — Billy is unlimited in the web app on the Free plan, not an upsell tier. | There is no equivalent to price — check their site for what exists today. |
| Subscription | None. Prepaid wallet, pay per label; optional flat Pro plan for volume. | None either — the pricing posture is the same, the workflow is not. |

Pirate Ship made buying a label cheap; it never made describing the shipment cheap. Every order still crosses the same form field by field, and that cost is paid per shipment, forever. An assistant that reads the order text moves the whole workflow from typing to confirming.
A transposed street number or a guessed weight is not a typo, it is a returned parcel or a billing adjustment. Billy extracts the address from the source text instead of your retyping of it, validates it, and quotes on the details it captured — so the label is checked before it is bought.
Showing you rates still leaves the deciding to you, order after order. Billy quotes USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL and preselects the cheapest service that fits — the comparison happens every time precisely because you no longer have to do it every time.
Every shipment on Pirate Ship starts with you translating an order into form fields. Here the translation is Billy's job: paste the DM, drop the screenshot, or hold the mic and say it, and the assistant extracts the recipient, validates the address, captures the parcel, and quotes USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL with the cheapest preselected. You look at the draft and confirm — that is the entire per-order workflow. The buy debits a prepaid wallet funded by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, ACH, or crypto, and store connectors and the REST API feed the same queue for the orders that do arrive structured.
Hey! 2x hoodies (M) 1x tee (L) 😅 Ship to: Maya R. Austin, TX 78701
Pasted text, screenshots, voice, connectors, and the REST API — one queue, zero retyping.
No monthly minimum to print. Signed webhooks push tracking to your store and your stack.
Shopify, Etsy, WooCommerce, and TikTok Shop sync into To Ship and get tracking pushed back when you print — those orders arrive pre-filled and barely need an assistant. Billy exists for the rest: the Instagram DM, the comment sale, the screenshot, drafted into a label with no connector involved at all.
Via AI tiles: an order that never became a record still becomes a label.
An assistant is only as useful as the tool underneath it. Under Billy sits a four-carrier rate-shop, a prepaid wallet with no monthly minimum, store connectors, and a free unlimited API — so the draft it hands you is also the cheapest honest quote available.
Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, ACH bank transfer, and crypto all top up the same balance, and every method buys identical rates, carriers, and features. Void a shipment and the credit lands back in the wallet instantly.
Billy reads pasted text, screenshots, and voice notes; remembers repeat buyers and saved box sizes; validates the address it extracted; and preselects the cheapest of four carriers on every draft. It is the difference between doing shipping and approving it.
Fund the wallet, pay per label, and ship nothing in February without paying for February. The assistant is included on Free — Pro is an optional flat plan for volume pricing and Billy on Telegram, not the price of admission.
Every Billy draft is quoted against all four carriers as live all-in rates, and the number you see is the exact amount that leaves your balance. Preselection only means something when the auction behind it is real — four bidders, not two.
REST and JSON, one Bearer header, idempotency keys so a retry cannot double-buy a label, and signed webhooks for tracking and label events. Unlimited calls on every plan — the assistant and the API buy from the same balance.

Draft ready
CL-1038 · Brooklyn, NY
The order came in on your phone; the label should not require a laptop. Billy runs in the web app on the same screen as the DM — paste, review the draft, confirm, print. The form-filling stage of shipping simply does not exist on this workflow.
The manual form has no answer to hands full of tape. Hold the mic, say who the parcel is going to, and Billy looks up the buyer, rate-shops USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL, preselects the cheapest, and queues the label against your prepaid balance — then answers for it afterwards. This is the real product, not a render.

Plain English in — names, addresses, weights, carriers, services · remembers customers and saved boxes · reads the all-in rate back before a cent leaves the wallet · phone, browser, or Telegram.
Every carrier on the same parcel, each an all-in number that is the exact amount leaving your prepaid balance. Billy's preselection sits on top of honest math: nothing arrives the day after with an adjustment on it, and voiding a shipment credits the wallet rather than a card statement three weeks out.

Billy removes the typing; the API removes the confirming. REST, JSON, one Bearer header: create the shipment, rate-shop all four carriers, buy the label — with real idempotency keys so a retried request cannot double-buy, and signed webhooks for tracking and label events instead of polling. Unlimited calls on every plan, buying from the same wallet as the assistant.

The obvious business model would be to sell Billy as an add-on. We didn't: the assistant runs unlimited in the web app on Free, because the drafting is the product, not the upsell. Free covers 50 shipments a month with the API and connectors unlimited underneath; Pro is a flat monthly fee for unlimited shipments, cheaper label pricing, and Billy on Telegram. Neither is a minimum you have to hit before a label prints.

Form-filling cost scales with order count — it is the one line item that grows exactly as fast as your success. Drafting by paste or voice caps it at a confirmation tap per label.

A video took off and I had 80 TikTok Shop orders by morning. I printed every label from my phone on the bus to the post office.

I run my Etsy shop from the kitchen. The AI reads the order, picks the carrier, the label prints. That's the whole workflow now.

The API is what every shipping API pretends to be. Idempotency that actually works.
